Saudi born Pakistani-American painter Nadia Waheed (b.1992, BFA 2015 School of the Art Institute of Chicago), creates allegorical figurative paintings that explore choice, rebirth, and redemption. Influenced by ideas surrounding the hero’s journey, drawing from lived experience and the vast archives of art history, recently her work has included esoteric imagery from ancient traditions around the world.
